The Sharpton Effect

Thanks to Rev. Al Sharpton, Don Imus's stupid phrase "nappy headed ho" has been permanently entered into the American lexicon. Everywhere I went today people were getting a kick out of calling one another "nappy headed ho." Interestingly the phrase is fun regardless of the subjects race or gender. Millions of people are being subjected to this insult of insults. So now we are stuck with it, emblazoned in our minds. Moral: playing the victim is counterproductive. I don't support what Imus said at all, but I support the reaction even less.
